Standby Power Generators
A stand-by generator is a back-up electrical system that is used in conjunction with the UPS system. They are installed to protect complex operations against power outages, which are rarely avoidable in the lifespan of a business.
They automatically operate in response to unexpected power loss, protecting complex operations. Within seconds of mains failure an automatic transfer switch senses the power loss and shifts the electrical load to the stand-by generator.
Generators must be correctly sized according to the installed capacity of the facility. This will give enough back-up to support the critical load until mains power is restored.
